Am I in danger of starting an electrical fire if the circuit breaker works?

Circuit breakers are designed to protect against short circuits and do not always trip before an overload causes a fire. You need to check the name plates on the various devices you are using and calculate the total current. If it exceeds 15 amps you should move some of it to a different circuit.
