Is my brother's iPod Touch 4th Gen broken?

Today while at my grandparents upstate house my brothers iPod randomly stopped working. I was playing plants vs zombies. Next, I placed it down and he accidentally was sitting on it. We bought it sometime around May 27th. He has a non-gel blue incase case for his iPod 4th Gen.
