I gave away an expensive necklace!?

About a year ago I had a crush on a girl and I gave her a necklace with a little charm on it. At the time I thought the chain was just a chain in the house. And now my mom is freaking out because she can't find her solid gold chain. She doesn't know that I gave it away accidentally. What do I do?
