What do you think of this Excel issue?

The only thing that comes to mind (assuming that no one altered the file on your public folder) is that the pdf file had some embedded data that caused excell to run some type of calculation. When you paste tyr right clicking in the destination cell and chose "paste values" instead of a full paste. Hope this solves your problem.
